This week’s musing asks…
How do you react to the “book police”? (people who judge what you are reading, and try to make you feel guilty) Do you respond to their judgements? Or, do you keep quiet? Do you let what they say influence your reading, or do you do your own thing, regardless?

My answer to this:

My friends don't really react like the book police, and even my family come round to browse my shelves looking for something to borrow to read. They all know I read and review a wide variety of genres. Although, when it comes to erotica I am not sure some of them understand 'why' I read that, it still never seems to be a problem. If they pull out an erotic paperback by mistake, I've noticed they still read the back of the book blurb with interest before they put it back...

  1. I think a lot of people are scared to try some types of books like erotica so they are unsure how to act and don't understand how good some books can be.

  2. Hey, Leanne, Thanks for your comment. I am sure that is exactly how some do react to erotica and the reason why - especially us Brits, with our stiff upper lip... laughs

  3. Unfortunately I think a lot of Brits are prudish which means they don't get to enjoy a lot things that they can.

  4. I read what I want and don't care what people think. I love erotica!

  5. Those that think romance is trash, oh sigh, but now I just read my books and do not care about idiots
