Alyxandra Harvey has already established herself as a hugely popular and talented writer for young adults with her Drake Chronicles series. Bloomsbury has sold 140, 000 copies of the series worldwide to date. In this new stand-alone novel she indulges her passion for Victorian England and delivers a thoroughly chilling ghost story.
Violet Willoughby doesn't believe in ghosts, especially since her mother has worked as a fraudulent medium for a decade. Violet has taken part in enough of her mother's fake séances to feel more than a little jaded about anything supernatural. That is until she and her mother pay a visit to Rosefield House.
Suddenly Violet is seeing the dead all around her. She is haunted day and night, and one spirit in particular refuses to leave her alone. The ghost of a drowned girl needs Violet's help to solve her murder. Violet must learn to use her new-found skills before the killer strikes again!
Alyxandra Harvey is an expert when it comes to writing feisty female characters and, despite the restrictions of Victorian society, Violet is a fearless, forward-thinking girl who readers will identify with. Prepare to be gripped by the mystery, charmed by the romance and thrilled by the ghosts of Haunting Violet!
When she's not writing Alyxandra is a belly dancer and jewellery maker. She lives in a haunted Victorian house in Ontario, Canada.
The first three Drake Chronicles – My Love Lies Bleeding, Blood Feud and Out for Blood – were published in 2010. The next book in the series, Bleeding Hearts, will be published in October 2011.
