When outsider Gabriel Mac Braire comes to Seelie Court petitioning the Summer Queen for permanent residence, Aislinn Finvarra is horrified to be ordered by the queen of Fae to be the half incubus' guide around Rose Tower. She's had enough of men for ten lifetimes. The last thing she wants is to be associated with someone known to prey on girls and enslave them with his good looks and dangerous dark Black Tower magick.
Trouble is brewing in Piefferburg City, where many Fae races live. Between the Goblins, pure-bred Seelie Fae and the darker, unsavoury Unseelie they are also having to deal with their mortal enemies, a race of druids named Phaendir. As if they haven't got enough to worry about with the two courts of Rose Tower and Black Tower already at loggerheads with each other. Suddenly Gabriel's interest in Aislinn doesn't appear to be so innocent, but can she work out that something much darker is going on, and that her own life is at risk before it's too late?
This book demanded my attention as though a seductive incubus had charmed my very being with a spell to make me fall in love with it! I have to admit this is my first taste of the delicious offerings Anya Bast has written, and I can categorically state it will not be my last. Wicked Enchantment is the first in a new hot paranormal romance series and if this is anything to go by, it promises to be a good one. Anya Bast delivers an outstanding spellbinding fantasy story of two lovers who find themselves overshadowed by family secrets, political corruption and a magickal fae history to die for. And if Aislinn is not careful, she may do just that!
For anyone interested in the art of world building skills, this is one author to follow. A flawlessly written excursion into a dark adventurous world of magick and passion.
