Homicide Detective Tony Costa was trying to solve the murders of now three young blond gay men. All were the same MO and all were found fairly close to each other over the last two months. The worst part of it is they all looked a lot like his lover, not that Tony would let anyone know he was in a relationship with a man. He would not even admit to being gay, but he definitely had a thing for Ryan, which had gone from friendship to physical intimacy.

Ryan Nilsson was in love with Tony, all the way in love. The only problem he had was in keeping it all in. He knew Tony was not ready for that next step in their relationship, he would not even spend the night. He was in the closet, viewing their relationship as friends with the fringe benefit of occasion sex. Ryan was also a vice cop and when Tony's boss request his undercover assistance he was ready and willing to help catch a killer. Now they would have to work together and the emotional triggers in the case were bound to cause some tension.

The intensity of the relationship between these two men is equal to the intensity of the case. It is hard to decide where to focus your attention as you read, to either savor the suspense or savor the interactions of the characters. Usually one drives you on and the other creates a background but in this story they blend so well it is difficult to decide which is the main focus. Wonderfully written to keep the reader involved in every aspect.
