Gunnar Hawkens wanted his wife back. After only a few months she had seemed to lose her mind and demanded a divorce. His best friend was like a brother to him, handled the divorce and Daphne had gotten the ranch. Now she was selling it over the Internet along with the chance to be her fiancé. He did not understand it but with a seven-figure bid under an assumed name Thomas Lord, he now legally owned the ranch again and he would have a chance to win her back.

Winning back a love that is lost is difficult, but in this case Daphne had not stopped loving him. He had to find a way to reach her and discover what had happened. She would have to open up to him if they were every going to be able to try again. Could she open up to him, and confess that it was for his safety that she had demanded the divorce in the first place? They are intensely in love, and their need for each other is captivating. It is a nice short story.
