This story is about a single mother who is not of the human race raising her daughter Ericca alone as her husband died in the Tunnel Wars. Sophia and her friends continue to hide their true heritage, that of the Ringgolds from Ericca although as Ericca begins getting older, she is more aware that her mom and her friends are hiding something. Ericca soon discovers the secret her mother has been keeping and with the assistance of her two best friends, Albert and Leonardo, who live inside her baby blanket, which also doubles as a flying carpet, Ericca learns that she can alter time and history. With their assistance, Ericca tries to do just that so her father can come home.
This book was a hard read. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it but I did find myself going back and rereading chapters because sometimes it took a few readings to ‘get it’. There are many twists and turns in this story and at times, the back and forth are hard to keep up with but stick with it as this is a really good read.
