Sir Jason sells his slave Jade because she couldn't quite handle his strictness. She soon finds herself up for auction, and unsure to whom is going to buy her next. Will she be able to cope? Is this one big mistake?

When the new master Thomas buys her, she is taken to his house to meet the existing slave, Willow. As Jade's senior she has job to teach her how to please her new master, Thomas. But it's not all plain sailing, and Jade finds some of the new household rules are very different to those she is used to. Will her new master accept and keep her, or will she be put back up for auction?

Dance of Submission is split into four parts; The Auction, Master Thomas, A Slave is Punished and The Dance. Having four sections in a novella is an interesting and original slant. I like the way the story leads to the final 'dance of submission' and is written in the first person, from Jade's point of view.

The eroticism was juicy and quite romantic at times, although the bondage and domination I found to be a little repetitive and light on detail, stilted even, at times. I feel I would have preferred to read more of it at a more leisurely pace, and not have it crammed in such a quick read of only 68 pages. It just felt like something was missing or this was an experimental piece. Perhaps if it was extended to novel length so the full story could be told; the characterisation more in-depth, I wouldn't be moaning. Having said that, I am keen to read more - especially her fuller length works, as 'Dance of Submission' is one of the author's earlier books, and I am sure Jude Mason is more than capable as a writer. This has a good storyline, I love first person POV and I thoroughly enjoyed the surprising elements of romance within this BDSM novella.
