Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page, In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren and New Crayons is hosted by Color Online. All three which are related to books you receive in the past week.Roughly the rules are the same for all three:
They are gathering places for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks & audio books do). Warning: This can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists. This is the idea for New Crayons:
Remember when you were a kid and getting new crayons was a big deal? Getting new books holds the same kind of magic for some of us big kids. Every week on Sunday, I post what's new in our box. Hope you'll share what you picked up from the library, store or in the mail, too.
This weekend I received this from Simon & Schuster, UK:
Product description taken from S&S UK site:
When the body of a young woman is discovered in a derelict cottage in the middle of Los Angeles National Forest, Homicide Detective Robert Hunter finds himself entering a horrific and recurring nightmare. Naked, strung from two wooden posts, the victim was sadistically tortured before meeting an excruciatingly painful death. All the skin has been ripped from her face - while she was still alive. On the nape of her neck has been carved a strange double-cross: the signature of a psychopath known as the Crucifix Killer.
But that's impossible. Because two years ago, the Crucifix Killer was caught and executed. Could this therefore be a copycat killer? Or could the unthinkable be true? Is the real killer still out there, ready to embark once again on a vicious and violent killing spree, selecting his victims seemingly at random, taunting Robert Hunter with his inability to catch him?
Hunter and his rookie partner are about to enter a nightmare beyond imagining.
I only picked up this book to see what it was like and then put it back to read at a later date, but I couldn't put it down! Literally!

ReplyDeleteSounds good.
ReplyDeleteMine didn't come in the mail box but today I picked up Michael Scott's book 2 The Sorcerer which is part of, well gosh I dont know what the series is called but its a YA series about Nicholas Flamel. So not only did I get a book but I got it CHEAP (in the franchise book stores it was $22 in the newsagency/book store it was $17 and at good ol K-Mart it was $11. I rock).
Great book. It sounds really interesting. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI like the title!

Hi guatami, I'm coming over to have a look at what you have in your mailbox - even though I say postbox here. :)
Well, Cindy, the review will be up soon. I don't like to rush them out and post them too quick though. Am I the only one who does that?
Yes, Mary it was! Thanks.
