Ellie Holden was worried about Professor Munro, and the only way she could see to help him was to go to her father and report the threat he had received. Nathaniel Holden was a Detective and who else should she trust to protect her beloved professor? After involving her dad, she had to trust that he could take care of everything. She just didn't know her dad had been having a hard time keeping his feelings for the sensual professor a secret.
Asher Munro was in a similar bind, believing Nathaniel to be straight as his image seemed to say, and he is struggling to keep his libido in check. Having to have Nathaniel as a twenty-four-hour-a-day bodyguard, without being able to get skin on skin, was going to be torture. Being a gay rights activist has landed him in this position, and it was a high profile issue that would not go away until the guy who threatened him was stopped.
The intensity of the situation, and their desire for one another that must be kept hidden, keep this story moving along nicely. It captures the insecurity that Nathaniel feels about being gay, and hiding it from everyone, including his daughter. Asher must be patient even when he suspects that Nathaniel is interested. It is such a wonderful portrayal of a passionate love suppressed. The question is, will it stay suppressed as they spend so much time in close proximity? A wonderful lusty tale.
