Feared and hunted almost to extinction, Marika belongs to the Drui who are healers. She's in a bit of a bind, though, when her body tells her that Xanthus is her mate. He's a dragon and they don't share while she already has one permanent mate. Having saved Tallis' life, she has bound him to a shape-shifting form as well as herself.

Tallis is not only bound to Marika, he loves her, protects her, and is willing to share her with a male of his approval. Though changed when Marika saved him from the evil which was killing him, she has given him purpose.

Xanthus has known since meeting her that Marika is his mate, but she avoids him. He can tell she feels something for him—it shows in her eyes. Now he must wait until they find the Dragon's Cup before he can claim her. Then he finds she has a mate already and curses the fact that he has wasted so much time.

Love, fear, misunderstandings, trust, exquisite sex are just a few of the things I enjoyed about this book. There is some M/M sex involved in this one so if this is not to your taste... This book is a nice rounding out of all the major characters, but there are a few I'm hoping to see more of—Dylan, maybe? But this is a good series and has become a favorite of mine. Just waiting to see who gets theirs next.
