Nathan Connors had longed for Carly for years but was afraid to scare her away with his sexual needs. He wanted more than to just love her he wanted to dominate her. Unknown to him Carly wanted that too. Now since she had finally made a daring move and forced his hand he was engaged to her and loving every minute of it, except that her parents were in town to help with the wedding and time alone was now scarce.
Carly was beginning to have second thoughts, after years of wanting him his dominance was a little scary. She just wanted to know that he loved her. She was very independent and could well take care of herself as well as the diner she owned and ran. She liked the dominance in the bedroom, but was afraid his take-charge cop personality would take over her whole life. She did not want to loose herself.
There is a lot of give and take in this relationship story. As is necessary sometimes friends are needed to step into the gap and help bring to people a better understanding. The tender but dominant love that surfaces is worth the interference. A wonderful book and I look forward to more from N.J. Walters.
