TEASER TUESDAY: The Rise of The Iron Moon by Stephen Hunt

Teaser Tuesday, a blog meme hosted by MizB on Should Be Reading.

Grab your current read. Let the book fall open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page. Share the title & author of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser. Please avoid spoilers!

So here is my Tuesday Teaser:

Purity wanted to swear and scream, but the restraining table was fitted with a rubber sphere that inserted itself in the prisoner's mouth. After all, the civil service's surgeons didn't want their deliberations on bloodwork and which pedigree lines to crossbreed to be interrupted by abuse.

  6. There are two more in this series, but I have read it can be read as a stand alone - new characters with some familiar faces appearing.

Since I haven't read either of the two previous books, that should work out just fine for me.

It's also got that 'Steampunk' feel to it.

Thanks for you comments - I'm coming over to yours now!

    Insert evil laugh...

Now that is intriguing - if that is page 3 the story must get going pretty quickly. I have the book that came before (the name is gone from my head) but I have yet to read it. One day...

  12. Thanks for all your comments!

Well, I have just started reading it and the heroine is 16 years old - so I'd say this was YA - and she's a tough little thing, in this story it looks like she has to be!

Fleurfisher - I haven't read his previous books, but I am interested to see if I can read this as a stand alone story.

Phyl, yes, it sounds dreadful, in a way you just want to know what happens to her!

Thanks William, Kaye and Jo-Jo you are welcome!
