When man messes with genetics, sometimes he gets things he doesn't understand even though he's under the misconception he's in control.

Mica Toler was supposed to be safe,everyone said so, but deep in her heart, she knew different; had always known it. There had been a chemistry between her and Blaine forever- a dark, mysterious intensity that drew them together and created a heat they both knew would come to a bad ending. Mica was a woman determined to live her life her way and if that meant staying away from Navarro, then stay  away she would, though he has an entirely different outcome in mind for them.

Now danger stalks Mica and Navarro has no intention of allowing Mica to leave his sight or her enemies to take his reason for being away from him- so if that means behaving like the animal she calls him ; so be it. As the danger converges upon the players, everyone is about to get a major lesson in what it means to let the animal free by stealing a Breed's mate, even if she won't allow herself to be fully claimed.

I adore books about shapeshifters, but I especially adore those who make them seem plausible, sexy, hot with an actual plot and sub plots as well as well defined characters. Lora Leigh has never failed to give me a book to read that holds my attention with all those requirements, but she also throws in a premise that is plausible as well as we have been working with genetic manipulation since the mid 20th century.

Most of all she makes me wonder what it would be like to have those abilities, live in the real world and struggle to find my place- again. I definitely keep these paperbacks as they are worth a re-read.

Starting here, we will be blog hopping along to visit our anthology authors websites in search for the hidden treasure. The hidden treasure being a 'Holiday Hat' version of our anthology book cover, of which there are 19 to find. 

When you have found as many as you can, they are all individually numbered, list the urls where you found the "treasure" and email me, Sassy Brit, at Sassy.Brit@gmail.com at the end of the tour. Closing date for entries into the Kindle competition is Christmas day.  The main winner will be announced Friday 6th January to allow us time to collate and check the entries.

When she does something incredibly stupid like let someone she barely knows in her office after hours, Olivia gets exactly what she's not expecting,but ought to be-trouble in the form of missing jewels. Now she has to ask the one person for help that has the most reason to deny her.

When Olivia Worthington comes seeking his help,ex-boyfriend Grady Long uses his security expertise to help her even though it's costing him much more than she knows. When she left him it wiped him and he's not sure if he's up to another stroll through the briar patch.

This one has a consistency which is nice, characters which are fully fleshed out, but my biggest disappointment comes from the female lead who is a bit of a "walk all over me type" . It is however a nice feisty quick read appropriate for a lunchtime break or before bed to warm you up.

Sexton Dukenfield, self-made ghost hunter,gets roped into a business deal by the Queen Mother,Victoria to find and restore several missing specters who are wanted returned to their haunts. In the course of his investigation he runs into Ceridwen,lush warrior from the past,who just happens to be transparent. It's not easy wanting a woman you can't exactly put your hands on,but is the epitome of your desires of what a woman should be.

Following several leads lands Sexton in of all places a match factory butting heads with one evil genius. All the while the one thing hanging in the back of his mind is finding a way for him and his "lady" to remain together-preferably with both of them hale,hearty and alive.

To Love A London Ghost started out rather slow and though the premise is one I adore (ghosts, etc.) it was hard staying in the story. I think much more could have been done with the investigation – the interaction with the spirits- and a little less in the description of the day to day lives of the characters. It was really well defined at the end and made it worthwhile getting there.

Maria sat down in the grass and Shaun followed sitting beside her. Maria tucked her knees into her chest and then wrapped both arms around them. As he focused on her, he took a deep breath that filled his lungs with fresh air. He inhaled again almost tasting a faint smell of sweet wildflowers and herbs that came from the surrounding woodlands. Shaun leaned back on his arms.

“Dinner was great,” he said in a tone that mirrored the serenity of the green meadow. Shaun wanted to make love to her right here, but looked away from the temptation.

Maria studied his relaxed posture and his triceps that rippled with the natural pose. “Yeah it was good huh?” she answered. “Shaun if I would have paid more attention …to… you know…”

“What…?” Shaun asked leaning back up, snapping a piece of grass from the flourishing lawn. He slipped the end into his mouth and looked at her curiously.

“With you…when you were growing up…”

He turned to look at her. “What are you getting at?”

“I wish I would have been there for you…”

“Maria, I appreciate that…and that would have been great, but you never would have seen me.”

“What is that supposed to mean?” she answered, her tone somewhat defensive.

“I didn’t mean anything by it…it’s just that we were born on different sides of the track. You had a better life than me.”

“You mean money don’t you?”

“No, that isn’t what I’m saying. I wouldn’t have cared if I was wealthy. It’s just that maybe if I would have had a father that gave a damn about me or friends that were there for me, things might have been different. Although, I have to say that I did mess up with the one person who cared and who I considered a brother, but unfortunately I can never tell him how much I loved him.”

“I could have been a friend too, Shaun,” she added gazing at his profile that was focused out on the perimeter of the woods.

Shaun slowly turned his face towards her. “Maria, I was too angry then. I would have never been a good enough friend for someone like you. If you think you could have saved me…” Shaun stated looking away from her and then finished. “…well, I was too far gone.” Shaun sensed that she realized what he said was true. Eight years ago all he felt was a constant rage that had consumed him for too many years. It was only after Matt’s death that everything within him exploded in one final bang.

Shaun took out the grass and wiped it against his pants. His eyes turned towards her and once again, he observed her innocence. She froze as he leaned twisting towards her and his lips found hers. His lips brushed loosely over her mouth as he placed one hand behind her head. His fingertips lightly stroked her hair, feeling the silkiness of it. Her hand reached out touching his hand that supported his weight. Blindly her hand trailed up along his arm where it stopped touching the rigid, strong muscle of his triceps. Maria lightly dragged her teeth over his lips.

Shaun pulled back opening his eyes. “Maria, thanks for the welcome home,” Shaun acknowledged once more.

“Who said we are finished with that…” she mentioned pulling his neck back towards her. He smiled before her tongue invaded the wetness of his mouth.

“Mmmm,” A deep, raspy vibration sounded through his throat.
