GIVEAWAY! What's on your desk, Wednesday Bronwen Evans? Regency Seductions?

The desk of Bronwen Evans! (Click to enlarge!)

This week I am pleased to welcome author,
Bronwen Evans,

'What it is like to be an author'

I write Regency historical romances and it’s the best job in the world.  In my desk photo you can see I have my favorite things around me. My Gorgeous Goddess coffee cup which is constantly filled with TEA not coffee.  I have the cover of my debut book, INVITATION TO RUIN,  as my screen saver and framed on the wall beside me. I have a copy of the Romance Writers of NZ Heart2Heart magazine (of which I’m one of the co-editors) open to a useful writing article depending on what I’m working on in my story, the one shown is written by Gracie O’Neil and is about H and h qualities that grab the reader. The little owl. Mirabella, sitting on my desk came all the way from Canada, which I won on www.RomancingTheGenres.blogspot.com.

I usually answer emails first thing in the morning as it’s already about 2pm to 3pm in the USA, then I start to write. I break for lunch and then I always go for a long walk at 3pm. The walk helps me plot and clarifies my characters behavior. It settles me down so that I can be productive when I get back home. I write until around 6pm then the night is for friends, family and my Kindle (which I have only just got because it is now available in NZ).

I love being an author because I’d go mad if I couldn’t release the stories floating in my head. I’ve also never met such a group of career minded, supportive people in my life.  Every other job I’ve had, has been very political, jostling for position. I’ve not found that from other authors. The romance writing community is very supportive – both readers and other writers. Thank you!

Here’s my bio:

New Zealander BRONWEN EVANS loves story-telling – gobbling up movies, books and theatre.  Her head is always filled with characters and stories, particularly lovers in angst.  In 2007, encouraged by a close friend battling a deliberating illness, Bronwen finally started down the path to publication by joining RWA, The Beau Monde. RWAustralia and RWNZ. Bronwen’s first manuscript, INVITATION TO RUIN,  was completed late 2009 and was sold by her agent, Melissa Jeglinski of The Knight Agency, to Kensington Publishing early 2010, in a two book deal. Her debut novel, INVITATION TO RUIN, received a 4.5 star rating from RT Book Reviews and was well received in Publishers Weekly - Evans's debut Regency is filled with sizzling romance... Strong characterizations, smooth plotting, and plenty of explicit sex will appeal to fans of modern Regencies. (Mar.)
