What’s On Karen Cote’s Writing Desk?

Sassy, what a moment this is to be among such great artists. I seriously had to read your invitation a few times before it sank in. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Keeping with the theme of what my writing desk and day look like, well…between my iPad, iPhone, Laptop and PC, I’m typically wherever the characters in my Romantic Suspense take me. My current novel, Erotic Deception is scheduled to launch in October of this year. Right now, I’ve delved into another Mystery Romance which I’m very excited about.

I’ve learned through this process we’re a unique batch of artists. I don’t know about others but many times, I find myself talking…to myself. One day I felt the desire to alter my routine and create an avatar to join in the conversation. However, I wasn’t quite conformable with the narcissistic environment I’d created so I decided to contact my dear friend, Award-Winning Author, Lin Holmes to see if she wanted to play. She did and “Karen’s Chaise Lounge” was conceived.

On a more serious note, The Chaise Lounge allows readers an opportunity they most crave. To learn more about their favorite author. Now readers are used to hearing an author’s voice through the pages of a book but rarely are they given an opportunity to hear their actual voices. The Chaise Lounge provides such an experience and has been well received.

I truly thank Lea Schizas at MuseItUp Publishing, Inc. for the opportunity given through publication and at such a wonderful place. She’s created a unique platform at Muse. One that not only catapults award winning talent into greatness but one of family. A family that’s turned Karen’s Chaise Lounge into a place of insurmountable richness. A place where friends gather. My friends.

  3. Karen Cote is a generous, creative, beautiful person that I am deeply appreciative to for joining our Muse Family. Her Chaise Lounge is an unexpected gift thanks to her ability to think, not outside the box, but beyond it.

I was honored and more than a little bit scared, to be the first guest at her groundbreaking blog, but all you have to do is listen to Karen's calm, well thought out introduction in her captivating voice, and the rest is easy. I still stammered at the very end, but I'll let you all in on a secret.

I didn't stammer over the promoting my own work part, I stammered when I offered up my thanks to Karen because this lady brings a lump to your throat every time you think about all that she has brought to Muse, making an already pretty spectacular place, thanks to Lea, our publisher and Litsa, our Marketing Director, so much more unique and spectacular.

I have always believed writers are the REAL celebrities in the enterainment world...(although horribly underappreciated)...Karen proves me more than just a tad right.

Before I check this over for my inevitable dyslexic alphabet soup and send it, I do not want to forget to thank YOU Alternative Read for taking note of Karen and bringing her here to share her with your world.

  4. I do have one other observation...how do you keep so many electronic components straight? I have my own desktop and my daughter, author Kat Holmes, has her desktop unit. Once upon a time I DID have a laptop, until my kitties sitting on it drew all the hot stuff right out of it...(Cats think of warming their own royal posteriors over all things)...Nothing sadder than a laptop that's lost all its get up and nano-ing. :<

I also have a cell phone. The owner's manual says I can text, but I figure I am doing really well if I can turn it on and key in actual phone numbers accurately on my first try...(I haven't figured out how to backspace...which is probably a good thing anyway...I'd probably backspace myself all the way to Jupiter.)

I am only beginning to figure out how to use my seven blogs...and I have seven because I couldnt' figure out how to boast as much as I wanted to on ONE blog. (They tell me it has extra pages available...couldn't prove it by me.)

But all the devices you have, Karen? WhooWeee. I did say you are a genious as well as generous didn't I?

  5. Oh my dear Ginger...this is only one of many places. This particular place around 10 in the morning...puts the warm sun right on my space and face. Sometimes it's the beach...a very short walk. Sometimes it's the Starbucks with the fireplace around the corner from my house. I do spend time in the living room with hubby and I do have an office...it's filed with my real estate career and frankly, uninspiring...However, as a caveat...at this time, I don't have the books out you do so things may change and I might have to clear out that office...until then I'm pretty happy where I roam.

    Love ya sweet sis, Karen

  6. Lin, you were and are beautiful and I thank you so dearly for being there, as you always are. You are the calm in my storm, dear heart. A role-model to keep going regardless of obstacles. I'm a huge fan of your writing and few people have your style and technique. I'm also a fan of that big heart of yours that never ceases beating for others. Love you Sweet-Lin.

  7. Hehehe. I'm a secret geek and find it essential to own the latest technology and play with it. I was one of those to wait in line for over three hours on the iPad 2. Besides roaming around requires these devices to fulfill the freedom I crave.

Thank you for your love and support...you are amazing.

  8. I love the freedom and atmosphere. I've been blessed and didn't know how much until my hubby had a temporary transfer and had to leave sunny California for a while. Now we're back, I bask in it every second I can. I don't take ANYTHING for granted.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate the time you've spent with me.
