Being "pure" in the sense of family name is going to just make momma's day when Serena Blackwood gets to break the news that she's turned into a vix instead of just being the high brow witch she was born. Now she gets to work with a vampire who makes it damn hard to keep her little secret. They've got to track and stop a rogue who has made killing almost a sport. It would be a lot easier to concentrate on her job if the vamp wasn't an edible hunk.
In a time of necessity, Marcus Castillo knows he needs the help of a witch to capture the rogue vamp creating mayhem. He wasn't expecting the complication of lust or the fact that she stirred feelings he didn't like. If he could just figure out if what she's hiding is detrimental to their case or only to him.
What happens when a strong woman gets hit with a life-changing problem? She deals with it- calmly (snort). I liked the way Ms. Airies gave this woman strength, a mouth, and good old horse sense, while the hero (who being lollipop edible) was still smart and intuitive. The sex was hot, the action good, and the plot fairly solid, but I have to admit it was the "by-play" between the two of them that kept me the most entertained.
