Rory finds himself drawn more and more to Carden, even though he has a basic distrust of all vamps, while Dennis continues to pursue his love. The trouble is that being the last of the "Pure", there are those who will go to any lengths to procure Carden for themselves.

There are secrets that for the safety of man should never come to light, but evil will out and betrayal brings a price many will pay-unfortunately the innocent as well as the guilty. Can love survive the vengeance of a vampire drunk with rage?

I don't like cliffhangers-usually because I don't like to wait to find out what happens next. That is the case in this series written by two people whose almost opposite styles somehow blend together to create a flow of story that when I hit that big ole "stop" at the point of no return, it makes me gnash my teeth knowing another wait is in the future. I love both authors as individuals, but as partners in this instance it is an affair of the heart. The characters are sometimes profound, yet vulnerable in their strengths, the sex makes me want to find a vamp of my own (shudders) and the tale just gets better as it goes along it's merry way.
