 Heart's Blood
by Gail Dayton

December, 2009
Read an excerpt over at the authors website here!
Master conjurer Grey Carteret regains consciousness in a London gutter next to a concerned street urchin and not far from the body of a man murdered by magic. Some fool is hoping to use murder to raise a demon. Arrested for the crime, Grey must rely on the street urchin for help. But the lad turns out to be a comely lass, and she wants something in exchange.

Pearl Parkin, a gently reared lady struggling to survive in London’s slums, sees magic as a way out of the life she finds herself trapped in. But blackmailing Grey into making her his apprentice has unexpected consequences. As they plunge into the hunt for the murderer, Pearl discovers that the things she once desperately wanted are not as important after all, and that she must risk her blood, her heart and her very life to grasp the love she needs.

And this I found over at Donna's Place

Imagine a secret world veiled in fairy glamour and brimming with unearthly delights. A city swarming with half-mad fairies, where thieving spriggans rob you blind, beautiful banshees mesmerize you with their song, and big green trolls bust heads at nightclubs. And once you’re in, there’s no escape…
Enslaved by a demon lord, Jade is forced to spend her nights seducing vampire gangsters and shapeshifting thugs.  After two hundred years as a succubus, she burns for freedom and longs to escape her brutal life as a trophy girl for hell’s minions.  Then she meets Rajah, an incubus who touches her heart and intoxicates her senses. Rajah shares the same bleak fate as she, and yearns just as desperately for freedom.  But the only way for Jade to break her bonds is to betray Rajah—and doom the only man she’s ever loved to a lifetime in hell.

I absolutely love both these covers! What's your Friday Find?
:) The "Inside Story" by Sassy Brit and her Gang!

  1. Hi Sassy,
I'm so happy to see this! As much as I love the cover, I love the story more :). It has a very unique flavor. I'm sad that the thrid book was pushed from a 2010 release to a 2011 release. That's the second time for me with books I'm looking forwrad to reading.

  2. Heart's Blood sounds like and exciting read!

  3. When I saw the cover of "Heart's Blood," the first thing I thought of was "Sherlock Holmes." ;) Must still have the movie on the brain...

But it looks really good! Sounds like it uses the premise of magic in a new way...

Great Friday Finds. Have a wonderful day!

  4. Oooh Heart's Blood looks fabulous. My find is at The Crowded Leaf.

  5. These look like great reads! I really like the covers.

    Here is mine.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a sassy comment. It's truly appreciated. I aim to get back to you as soon as possible -- Sassy :)
