The one thing Fane regrets more than most was taking advantage of the woman who made him not only burn, but yearn for things he knew were unattainable- but the codes her husband had died to protect were more important than the wishes of one person. When he has to rescue her years later from a maniacal mutant, not only secrets kept for centuries are at stake, but the lives of millions.
I have to admit that as she writes each book of the series, I find each character becoming much clearer, more depth added to the story, but as the tale becomes increasingly complicated, I wonder if the fluidity will remain. There's no doubt the men are hot, the women each in their own way have a strength and endurance to envy and somehow she always manages a little surprise twist to keep the interest. I'm waiting to see where she takes the next one.
