What happens when you beam aboard an assailant who turns out to be an extremely intelligent female? Why give her crew member status, of course. Now Axel has not one but two attractive people to deal with; well, one human, one very rare, worth a lot of money (if you sold him) alien determined to make life as unbearable as possible for one mind his own business man.
Snake isn't sure how he's managed to keep his true identity secret for the years he's been aboard the ship, but as long as they ignore him, he's happy. At least he was until Sela came on board and his true nature started making suggestions to his brain he's been afraid to tell Axel. If only he could live the way his race truly lived.
Sela has found a way to get off the planet she's been stranded on for a long time, but now she's ready for some down and dirty sex with both Axel and Snake; especially after seeing them together. Now if they could just settle their differences and get along, life might get a whole lot more interesting- at least until they find out who she really is.
This one has the plot within a plot, but it isn't blocky. It is however an intricately woven story that must be read slowly in order to keep the storyline straight. I like the "real life" treatment this was given with real situations between partners, life getting in the way, issues of trust, retribution and some of the hottest sex in a menage situation I've come across in a bit. I would have liked to see the end of the story taken farther or maybe another book to continue the tale as it leaves me wondering.
