Lee Masters- currently unemployed cowboy due to getting caught with his proverbial pants down- finds the man who completes him while bathing in a mountain stream. He just didn't figure it would be a Dakota Indian who was his soul mate. Although learning to accept both himself and their life might be just a wee bit on the difficult side.

Tatanka (Running Buffalo) is on his own because he refuses to accept the way men who prefer men in his tribe are expected to act. Finding Lee has meant he has someone who accepts him,but will they find acceptance in either of their real worlds? Add in a young boy named Sleeps With Dog who demands to be a part of their family and things get even deeper.

Two men who fall in love in an era when homosexuality is not discussed much, let alone accepted; two cultures with different perspectives and a young man who loves them both. Toss in some hot sex and you've got the making of a really good read. The struggles of this unusual family are so very realistic, while the keen insight into the social structures of the era bring these people to life with grace, compassion and intelligence.
