Toshi recounts the vacation he spent in Waikiki, Hawaii. It was a
long way from his home in Tokyo not just in distance but in culture as well. He felt like he could be someone else here and when he meets Kristopher he does just that. Kristopher was portraying Rodin's sculpture, his skin mottled as well as his scant covering. He struck a pose of The Thinker, and Toshi watched as he maintained the position even with the people poked and touched trying to see if he were man or statue. They didn't actually meet that day but later in the week on the beach and it was an intense time they spent together, and a memory Toshi will always keep.

Not your typical short vacation encounter this is deeply personal for the participants. In some ways they help each other to grow. The sad aspect is that the relationship that begins to bloom does not continue. Still it is a love story of it's own kind.

Of course I meant Aris and not Iris. My apologies. My fingers often type faster than my brain works.
