As Cade's dream of Marly ended he was sickened by the reality that he wanted her even though he could never have her. She was home for the week from college and slept in the room adjoining his. He had peeked on her and what he saw astounded him. She had thrown off the covers and he saw her completely. It was not right, he had raised her as his niece, she was not a blood relation but he was given the responsibility of keeping her safe from the monsters who would use her. Now he was no better because he wanted her for himself. With a body like that, if he is not careful, his younger twin brothers Brett and Sam may get to Marly first.

The writer does a wonderful job of keeping up the suspense about the past trauma that has affected the August brothers. It creates a wonderful suspense along with the abusive father who still stalks Marly. The intensity of the relationship between Cade and Marly is only magnified by the brother's love for her. Each will protect her from the danger, but who will protect her from them? Intense and graphic this is a wonderfully passionate read.
