Alenna Carstairs is transported back in time to ancient Scotland, by a ring she discovered at a archaeological dig site at MacKendrick Castle. She had a chance to experience the middle-ages first hand.

Tynan of MacBrahin lived in the 1300's he was a knight of Baron
MacKendrick. History showed that he had betrayed the Baron and came to blows over a women during the siege in 1318 by Baron Ruthven. No one ever knew what happened to the woman but Tynan was reported dead.

The seer Elizabet had seen in a vision a woman coming in a mist that would save Tynan's life. She had told him she was special and he must protect her with his life. He did not believe it then and he did not believe it now. But somehow she was here and things did not make sense. All he really understood was that he wanted her like no other.

This is and interesting historical time travel novel. It was thoroughly enjoyable in its cultural differences. It is amazing to wonder if one could rally adjust as easily to the dramatic differences in customs and cultures. The passion is inhibited by current standards but as usual men were definitely used to taking what they wanted. Now to find a ring of my own.
