A historical romance about a highway man and an inn keeper's daughter. He was captured by her innocence and she was captured by his passion. She taught her everything from kissing to rutting in the space of a few precious days. Then he left promising to return before he left the country to at least say goodbye. She desperately wanted to go with him and was hoping he would change his mind.

This is a nicely done story of innocent love. The tenderness Jack shows to Bess is such a contrast to those around her, and it captures her. It could also be his downfall. A good all around historical romance.
