Dorothea was alone in the world, divorced three years ago she was in need of a protector. Her friend Ellen had arranged a dinner party for her to meet Lord Tremayne who was looking for a mistress, as he had long ago lost interest in his former paramour. She also hoped to find the passion that was missing from her marriage of eight years.

Lord Tremayne, Daniel was stunned by his attraction to her when he entered the dining hall. So stunned in fact that he did not speak to her through the entire dinner. She was getting cold feet, but determined so after dinner Ellen introduced them and she left with him immediately. Ellen had warned him to go slow and not scare Ellen so he closely controlled his passion, but Dorothea 'Thea' wanted none of that. Would she persuade him to let go of his tightly held control and give her the passion she craved?

The is a wonderful historical romance. I so enjoy the eye opening wonder that Thea experiences as she enjoys a man for the first time, and understands what love and passion can be like. It is a book of releasing repressions and exploring passion. A wonderful sensuous affair, that is just a little bit wicked.
