Having left the world of racing behind, Carrie Martin-Salem has made a good life for herself back in Texas. When her husband died in a spectacular crash, she was finally able to leave the circuit, but
leaving behind her best friend made forgetting impossible. When she's given a reprieve as J.T. makes an unexpected appearance, the question becomes safety or taking a second chance at life and love.
Racing was J.T. Sims' profession, but Carrie was his passion; and one he's waited years to fulfill. Now he's going to show her that taking a chance on him means she'll have all the love she can handle and more. If she's not afraid to live, that is.
This was an intriguing look at a determined man seeking to show the woman he's loved for years that he's not like her deceased spouse. Ms. Carlysle has written a tale full of pain, frustration, passion, love and compassion told in such a way that I became totally enamoured of J.T. and wished he were for real, while wanting to gently shake Carrie and make her wake up. Thoroughly enjoyable.
