The booklet:
Contains a brief outline about the benefits of becoming actively involved with the invisible universe of energy, and how using the tools and techniques within the kit will assist you in boosting your vitality and feel better now.
Donna Eden then goes on to explain about her own personal journey into energy healing, her own illnesses and how her natural ability to heal lead her to become a licensed healer with her own private practice. Ms Eden shares two patient cases to give the reader an idea of the range and potency of her energy work, and details of the six essential principles of energy medicine.
The body's energy systems (the chakras, the aura and the meridians) are all outlined in this short booklet. Saying this, I found that even though whole books are written about each of these subjects, this booklet is concise and tackles each system extremely well. There is plenty of information to suitably introduce you to these terms and their meanings, without going overboard or skipping important details. Towards the end of the booklet the crystal is explained. (See below).
The Crystal:
Ms Eden recommends we experiment with spinning the crystal over electrically inductive points on the skin as described on pp. 23-26 of the guidebook. The first three cards also recap how to do this, and what the benefits are. The crystal is made from a high quality cut glass, measures about an inch, and comes on a short red string with its own black velvet pouch to keep it from getting scratched.
The DVD:
Provides a visual format of the energy healing methods available to you. It lasts for over an hour, and consists of Donna Eden taking to a small audience, who take it in turns to step up to the stage and try out her healing and revitalising methods firsthand. There is a lot of focus on the meridian lines, which I find intriguing, as it is a subject that personally fascinates me. I found the DVD enjoyable to watch, and fun to do. Also, in between each exercise we move out of the class and the main points are recapped using text and pictures to ensure clarity and understanding.
The CD:
Out of all the additional features, I found this the most valuable tool. With twenty-one exercises, known as Enercizes, (Energy- Exercises) each one takes no longer than a couple of minutes each to do. You can either work through the whole CD or pick out individual Enercizes you feel are appropriate to your current needs. Starting with the introduction, these range from 'The Five Minute Routine', and what to do 'If You Feel a Cold Coming On' to exercises for treating 'High Blood Pressure', 'Insomnia' and 'Improving Your Memory'. Just pop on the CD, or download to your MP3 player, and quickly learn what you need to do. The exercises are not strenuous at all, and before long you will remember what to do, without the need of the audio instructions.
The cards:
The forty-three Energy Medicine cards can be used as a reminder of the procedures. The first three explain the main points and benefits of using the crystal, and the remainder cover the Enercizes, that can be found in the DVD or on the CD, (sometimes on both). I like these cards, as they are numbered, headed with the exercise name and have accompanying pictures to illustrate the positions for that exercise. On the reverse of the cards the instructions and pictures are replaced with the 'Benefits' and a simple 'Reminder' of how to do the exercise. They also show you where else you can find the same example, in the guidebook, CD or DVD, which is handy, and makes using the kit a breeze. The cards also have a wipe clean quality, which I like, too.
Overall:
All this fits into a nice bright orange and yellow box, which is a pleasure to look at in itself.
The Enercizes have unusual names, such as 'The Three Thumps', 'The Cross Crawl', and 'The Wayne Cook Posture', however, after you have listened to the CD and watched the DVD, these unusual names make sense, and fit the purpose of the job.
Although different, these exercises remind me a lot of the self-healing hand positions one uses in Reiki; in that each position can unscramble and heal the whole of your body's energies, or pinpoint certain areas. Half way through completing the exercises along with the DVD I actually felt my sinuses clear, and could feel what I can only describe as a light-headed clear feeling! At first, I was dubious that this would do anything for me, but now I am convinced it works, and look forward to using these techniques more in my daily life.
If you'd like to learn more about Energy Medicine, this is fun, refreshing approach to alternative healing, easy to understand and to do yourself. A great way to energise and vitalise!
