Blood is blood and when his sister goes missing within the underground of New York, Gabriel Morgan will do whatever he has to to save her. Only the maniac who has her demands a steep price for her return- one that will require Gabriel shed his own blood. Ten million dollars earned as a fighter for one of five leaders of an organization identified only by an obscure symbol to buy her release. Is he truly willing to do that?

Marcus Slade knows that if Gabriel survives the vicious training with the top fighters in his camp then he will be a big attraction. His incentive to endure it? To know that if he doesn't and he goes into the ring and loses, his sister will lose her life. So Marcus watches as he is branded, broken and remade into Angel- who does not lose.

If this series stays as intricate as the first book promises with the attention to detail, emotional pull and depth of character already displayed, it will become one to re-read on those nights when you're looking for a truly good read. I liked the fact that I wasn't inundated with all of the history of the characters, but was being fed in increments that whetted the appetite and made me hungry to see where the story and the people were going. I'm eagerly awaiting the next ones and hope they stay true to the form of the first.

  1. OOh, I'm always looking for a good series, because I like the depth you can get into with characters that span several books. I'll have to check this one out.
