It's bad enough to lose a twin to an absolute monster, but for Penny Sawyer to find out that it was after her as well made it that much harder to deal with. But with not one, but two tall, hunky men who insist that they have to protect her, it just might not be too bad.

Having shared everything from war to women Draven Nimick and Derek McDonough are the most unlikely pair of friends. Yet when assigned to guard a human female, they discover their future- if they can keep her alive and accept that there will be a fourth to enter their triad.

Just about the time I get the triad premise going along with the shifter one, Ms. Xander manages to throw another small curve into the story and make me really interested. Now I not only want to find out who or what, is doing the killing, but can't wait to see what else she'll throw into the mix to "jump up the value" so to speak.

Relatively smooth segues into each one mixed with serious undertones, hot sex, humor and a large dose of reality- shifter-style- makes each one a stand-alone, but much more interesting as a series. The biggest complaint I have is that I can see a lot of room for expansion in each tale (easy for me to say when I'm not doing the writing, huh?) making for a broader detail of the depth in each character.
