Who else besides the slayers knew that human thoughts can create nasty, soulless beings known as Tulpas? Quinn Hurst thought she was the only slayer in the area until she literally ran into another slayer who sets her body into hyper-drive. Quinn's not sure about working with anyone else- she's kind of into being the only one on the job.

Garen is determined not to let anything or anyone come between Quinn and himself. It seems it's happened in the past, but he's not about to stand by and let some freaky- deeky demon lay claim to the woman who has already laid claim to his heart; both in the past and in the present.

The premise in this was just a wee bit strange, but with my perverted sense of weird that was actually rather cool. I loved Quinn's strength and determination, but the biggest surprise was her compassion. On the other hand, Garen was an intriguing mix of all the traits we think we want in a man, but the reality might be more than we truly want. The story has some interesting turns, plenty of hot sex, an intriguing premise that could be frightening in its intensity and characters that are spirited and feisty.
