Dewy's 24-Hour Read-a-Thon: I love this picture...

...but to make it more authentic, this should have the pan boiling over and fire and smoke filling the room; a typical day in the Sassy household. A featured picture that can be found on the front of the "OK, so it came out a little bit different to what I expected!" cookbook by yours truly! Or the regularly featured magazine aptly named "What's this supposed to be?" by my husband.

This will be my first year participating in Dewy's 24-Hour Read-a-Thon, which will take place on October 24, 2009 at 1pm GMT. To learn more, as there are several ways to participate, visit the official site. Not sure what to expect, but it looks like a lot of fun!

I can see a few burnt meals on the horizon for October 24th. I know, hubby, "what's new?"

If you are also joining in, please let me know and I will come and visit and give you a few rah-rah-rah's to keep you going. Let's hope for some page turners, or it's going to be matchsticks on the ready by the dozen... The "Inside Story" by Sassy Brit and her Gang!

  1. I'm so glad to hear there are more cooks like me, even though I love books I cannot say it has helped my cooking skills to have a few cookbooks around LOL.

The Read-A-Thon sounds like fun but I think I'm to fond of a good nights sleep to participate.

  2. Oh, I'm pleased to know I am not alone where our (lack of?) cooking skills are concerned. And as for sleeping during the Read-a-Thon - I'll probably have to, since there will come a point where I just can't keep my eyes open, and I'll wake up with the book ontop of my face in the morning...

  3. Hey Hon...

I am all gearing up and already practicing doing a few all nighters..

This is my second one and I had tremendous fun last time...

Can't wait - glad to know someone from this side of the pond will be taking the plunge with me...

I'll be cheering you on... Yeahhhhh

P.S. My cooking skills aren't that bad - my kids haven't start questioning the mystery meat yet - so I am counting my blessings...

  4. That's great, E.H>

Already practicing? Ooh!, sounds great. I'll be in touch. It is nice to have someone who is doing this at the same time!

Mystery meat huh? I'm assuming that's something like tofu, or Quorn and not anything really ghastly!

  5. I am considering joining in with this :)

And my cooking skills are catastrophic.

  6. Looks like you've come to the right area - the danger zone! Might have to be sandwiches in my house that day.

Hope you do decide to join in Kate, I can only imagine the fun we'll get up to!

  7. Good luck on the read-a-thon! This will be the second time I'm taking part in the read-a-thon and I am so excited! I think I've even got my boyfriend commited to reading for at least a few hours on read-a-thon day!

I hope you have fun, and good luck!

  8. Good luck with the readathon, and have fun!

  9. Good luck with the rest of the day! Happy reading!;)

  10. I'm not sure if you're participating in the read-a-thon, but if you are, keep up the reading! You've finished the first third!

  11. If you are participating, almost halfway through, and you're doing great!

  12. Let's go
Let's go, chip in, it's time to cheer,
It's simple, yell what you hear,
    Go Reader Go,
    Go Reader Go,
    Fire up and scream,
    Read Read!

    Go Sassy!!

  13. Happy Reading! WAHOO! Cheering you on to a fabulously successful read-a-thon, Care

  14. Are you still around? Or sleeping and resting? No matter what, you've done great so far. Ready for the last stretch?! Come on. GO GO GO. Cheering for you from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a sassy comment. It's truly appreciated. I aim to get back to you as soon as possible -- Sassy :)
