After the virus had done its damage, women became nothing more than possessions. That was something Laurie Callahan was determined not to be if she could help it. The Claiming Law was not in any woman's best interest as it gave men all the rights and all she wanted was Tyler Outlaw and the electric love they had shared.

Being a teacher and wanting to make a difference in the only way he knew, Tyler "joined up" and left Laurie behind thinking he'd be back for her. But things don't always turn out the way they're planned and he and his friend Hunter Brown survived several years in prison with the hope of Laurie keeping them alive. Now they're back and determined to make her see that she belongs to the both of them just as they belong to each other. The problem is that none of them are the same people they were all those years ago.

For a futuristic look at the world this one set me to thinking really hard at how easily it would be to make this come to pass. It was a rather frighteningly real portrayal of just how easily we as humans might lose that thin veneer of our so-called civilization and revert to somewhat animalistic tendencies. The plot was solid, the characters varied and well written (sometimes too much so) and the premise one we ought to consider as not only viable, but possibly probable. It was a thoroughly thought provoking, erotic read.
