Ashley Blakely has come to bid on the cure that works on her strain of the X-virus not knowing that her ex-lover is going to be bidding against her. They had spent glorious time together years before and she is wanting revenge for his betrayal. He'd promised to "take her away" but had left her to rot and now she wants revenge. There are things she plans to do to him to show him what it's like to be abandoned. Will her heart or her head win out in the end?

Surviving the Terrorist Wars is the only good thing Colter Outlaw has to remember those long, dreary years. Well, that and the beautiful woman who played him for a fool after stealing his heart. He wants payback and finding her at the Pleasure Palace planning to bid on the cure is an opportunity he simply can't resist. Kidnapping, collaring, and days of extremely erotic, sensual play is just the beginning of his plans. Sometimes the best plans can't withstand the feelings of
the heart.

These simply become more enthralling as well as darker in context to times portrayed. Misunderstandings abound in this carefully choreographed tale of betrayal, revenge, despair, secrets, love, hope and victory. Written with the keen wit and insight I've come to take for granted, Ms. Springer has given me a world both complex and simple filled with some of the strongest, determined and just plain stubborn people I've read about in quite some time. This is a grim, realistic premise of a future which is unfortunately possible with man's love of playing with known viral "killers". The entire series to date has hit my top shelf.
