Falling takes us into the very realms of Heaven where angels live, both good and bad; where Death, Uriel, Michael the archangel, and others make war. Can the very angels fall in love with mere mortals? Brenna is not yet a full vampire, but verging on one and now has at her fingertips the powers of an angel, yet she feels discouraged, frustrated, depressed. Azrael, AKA Death, her lover and mentor, has disappeared and she's having a hard time finding him. When she heads into the heavens to his old home, so to speak, another angel meets her and turns her away with threats of death. She leaves and immediately goes about ten feet into the earth, pulling the dirt she removed back on top of her, and is asleep before she's completely covered. Her soul and spirit leave her body and she floats in the darkness, in the emptiness until Azrael finds her, slashes his wrist and allows her to drink of his blood until she returns to life and her body to normal.

However, this is not the end. Both Brenna and Death expect war with Michael. Before the war breaks out, Michael convinces Azrael that Brenna is reverting back to the evil she came from. She has listened to her werewolf friend and shape-shifted into a hellhound, gone on a killing spree and met with Azrael. Azrael is angry and plunges his hand into her chest, pushes past her heart and tears out that part of her soul that was changing into an angel. He casts it into the heavens where it lodges to blink and shine like a star. He leaves her then, vowing never to return to her. The feathers begin to fall from her angel's wings and she knows she is converting to full vampire status. This is just the beginning. From here on Brenna has a struggle that no mortal will ever have.

Brenna fights her other self and with the help of Uriel, a good angel, she is able to train her other self not to kill without a cause. Azrael, however, isn't so lucky. Mastema, the master of evil, draws many good angels into his forces, turning them into demons. Azrael is tempted and begins turning. He realizes he must give Brenna's soul back to her so that she could help save the Universe from going completely evil. But turning as he is, he has lost the power to return her soul to Brenna. By the time Azrael finds Brenna he is crawling on his belly and his visage is now one of a snake. I'm going to stop here for I don't want to spoil the story completely. Read the book to learn if Brenna will help Azrael after all he's done to her and if the Universe can be saved.

Crymsyn Hart presents her story through Brenna's viewpoint and switches between Brenna's VP and Death's VP as the story unfolds, so that we get a look from both sides. This technique gives us a better understanding of what is actually happening with this couple. I applaud Ms. Hart for her stunning display of imagination and the description of the emotional relationship between Death and Brenna. Falling is a must read for any serious Fantasy fan.

AUTHOR BIO:

Crymsyn R. Hart is a best-selling author of Erotic Romance. Her worlds are filled with luscious vampires, gorgeous gods, quirky witches, and everything else that goes bump in the night. Hell, there is even a delicious cheesecake god floating around, but if I were you I wouldn't eat his brownie cheesecake. Crymsyn worked as a psychic for many years in Boston while attending Emerson College. She graduated with a BFA in Writing, Literature, & Publishing. When she gets bored, she sneaks away to local cemeteries and coffee shops to find peace and quiet. Granted, graveyards might be a great place for the dead, but she still has to listen to their chattering. It can get annoying when all you want to do is write, but she can tell you quite a ghost story. Crymsyn shares her life with a small zoo, including two playful puppies and her hubby Mark. If you come after dark, you're more then likely to find her snuggled up with a gory horror movie, or a bloody vampire movie.
