While five friends are giving a "going away" party for a best bud an earthquake releases upon Manhattan some pretty strange looking creatures. While fleeing with the rest of the town one of them decides to video tape everything that's happening. Why?
"Because it's important for people to be able to see."
Although there were really good special effects in here and the premise was great, the hardest parts for me were two things. It was so choppy and jumpy from the running with the cam (and yes I know it would be -I'm blond, not stupid) it made it incredibly hard to view. Plus if I were to believe it covered seven hours and twenty minutes in the eighty-four minutes the movie plays, they need to do the time sequencing on the cam so it displays different times. If it did I was concentrating so hard on trying to see what was happening I missed it. I did find the ending absolutely wicked. I'm not always one for the happy endings, but this was a delightful twist. Fiendish.
