The third in the Island Guardians Series. In the first book we
learned about the curse. The Isle of Altair was overrun by warriors who were needing a place to settle that had an abundance of women. Their race was dying out and this was their only hope. The women of Altair might have accepted them in peace since they had so few men on their island, but peace was not offered.

The women between twelve and fifty served the goddess and they were only allowed to give birth to one child. Now they were expected to mate with brothers, twins or triplets sharing one woman, and give birth to many children. Since they demanded these changes instead of asking and compromising the old priestess cursed them. Five women would arise as Guardians, one of fire, earth, water, and air and the fifth a mystic who would unite
them. Until that time they would have to battle hard to keep the land they had taken. In the first book Earth Moves we met the first of the Guardians, Erika and her mates, twins Galen and Arik Savaris. In the second book Fanning Her Flames we meet the second Guardian, Farrah and
her mates, triplets Marcus, Alexi and Bannen Donan.

Willow was the Guardian of water. She had been raised by her fathers in the warrior villages and as such she was comfortable around the great men. She was finally of age to be claimed but was not ready to be tied down when she was finally growing in strength with her powers.

Drago and Ulrik Mederra were brothers to Erika the Guardian of the Earth, but had not been home since her babies were born. They had been hanging around the coast waiting for Willow to be of age. They had already spoken with her fathers and had permission to claim her as their bride.

The story continues with the third Guardian appearing and being claimed by her mates. She also meets the fourth Guardian, the one with the power of air. The mating is intense as in the previous stories, however, there is less stress or conflict over the mating. The story is therefore, simpler. As war continues time is running out, so we anxiously await the next in the series.
