A masterpiece of passion. The deep primal soul response to love that breaches all obstacles thrown in it's way. Right or wrong, it sears to the core of a person to never let go even in the face of insurmountable odds. Violent at times, tender at times, the perfect balance of give and take that is worked out by meeting life head on. We all need someone to lean on to find our strength in and to give life purpose. This story is wonderfully deep, edgy, intense. It kept me glued to my chair hoping with my very being for the author to take me to the mountain and she did.

Although this is the sixth book in the Nature of Desire Series it can easily standalone. However, we are introduced to Marcus in the first book Holding the Cards where he is trying to help his friend Josh to come out of his shell after a disastrous relationship that ended two years prior. A lot can be learned about him as he nudges along a weekend game of D/s that allows Josh to bloom at the hands of Lauren. What he learns about himself finds him finally ready to conquer Thomas and bring him home.
