Haylie had finally won the job she had coveted, Chief of Security on the Earth Colony of Eurus. The colony was inhabited by humans and Briel, a compatible species even if their culture was vastly different. Her first look at a Briel had her hormones kicking into overdrive.

Ambassador Kamran was drawn to her at first sight. Even later that day he could describe her appearance, scent and voice. He could tell how close she was as she wandered around the station. All of the symptoms of finding a Briel mate but she was human and that was impossible.

An interesting portrayal of inter species attraction. The powers of pheromone attraction and the mental bonding create a uniquely interesting problem as well as the different customs and laws of the peoples. I found the underlying story of trouble on the colony interesting as well, with the protective nature of the two as each as his duty to do as well as the internal struggle to keep a relationship secret. Well done. The passion is outstanding.
